About
Neil Middleton Architects work on projects across Scotland from our office in the old town of Edinburgh. Our designs are purposeful, thoughtful and considered. We have a friendly and collaborative approach to our work and really enjoy working with and learning from clients, consultants, and contractors during the design process.
We think carefully about each project and our process involves working with digital collages and physical models to think creatively about materials, light and space. We find this helps us to communicate our ideas to clients.
Our architecture is direct and simple with a focus on natural light and connections to the outside. We often try to draw out the qualities of an existing situation to create spaces and buildings with character, that are rooted in their location.
We approach projects with sustainability in mind and recognise that as designers we have a responsibility to make a difference through our work.
We particularly enjoy working with homeowners on bespoke extensions and thoughtful alterations and one of our strengths is considering how to improve the layout and efficiency of a house.
We also have experience working with commercial clients, and on listed buildings. We are currently working with an ambitious developer on an exciting scheme to transform a listed former care home into multiple flats.
Services
We offer a full architectural service and embrace working on all aspects of a project from feasibility studies right through to construction. This includes concept design, planning applications, building warrants and working alongside contractors during construction. We deal with statutory authorities and can arrange other consultants, such as structural engineers on behalf of clients.
If you have a project in mind you can book a free initial architectural consultation online here. Alternatively give us a call or drop us an email. We would love to hear from you.
